Walk with Confidence
A well-fitted harness transforms every walk into a safer, more enjoyable experience for both you and your pet. Unlike traditional collars that place pressure on the delicate throat and trachea, Classy Tails harnesses distribute force evenly across the chest and shoulders, dramatically reducing the risk of injury — particularly for small breeds, brachycephalic dogs and enthusiastic pullers.
Paired with our matching leads, each harness creates a coordinated walking system that looks as good as it performs. Every piece in our range reflects our commitment to thoughtful engineering, premium materials and refined Australian design.
Engineered for Comfort & Control
Our harness and lead collection has been developed in consultation with professional dog trainers and veterinary orthopaedic specialists. The result is a range that prioritises your pet's physical wellbeing while giving you confident, responsive control in every walking scenario — from quiet suburban streets to busy dog parks and crowded market days.
Ergonomic Design Philosophy
Every Classy Tails harness begins with a body-mapped pattern based on detailed anatomical studies of canine and feline movement. The chest plate is contoured to sit comfortably across the sternum without restricting shoulder rotation, which is essential for maintaining a natural, healthy gait. Back straps follow the topline of the body and connect at a reinforced dorsal D-ring positioned to minimise lateral pull and keep your pet centred during walks. A secondary front-clip attachment point is included on all dog models for owners who prefer a no-pull training configuration.
Materials & Hardware
The structural webbing in our harnesses is a military-specification nylon rated to withstand forces far exceeding what even the strongest breeds can generate. This webbing is lined with breathable air-mesh padding that wicks moisture away from the skin, preventing chafing and heat build-up on warm days. All buckles are injection-moulded from glass-reinforced nylon for a secure, positive click that will not release under tension. Metal components — including D-rings, swivel clips and adjustment sliders — are cast from marine-grade stainless steel, chosen for its exceptional corrosion resistance in coastal and high-humidity environments across Australia.
Adjustability & Sizing
Achieving the perfect fit is straightforward thanks to our four-point adjustment system. Straps at the chest, belly, neck and back can be independently fine-tuned so the harness sits snugly without being restrictive. We offer six sizes — from Extra Extra Small for kittens and toy breeds as light as one and a half kilograms, through to Extra Large for powerful breeds weighing up to sixty kilograms. Our online sizing guide walks you through measuring your pet's girth and neck circumference to ensure you select the right size on the first try. If you fall between sizes, our team is always available to provide personalised recommendations.
Lead Collection
Our leads are designed to complement every harness in the range. The standard walking lead is 1.5 metres of round-braided rope with a padded neoprene handle that absorbs shock and remains comfortable during extended walks. For training and recall work, our adjustable multi-length lead offers three fixed positions — short, medium and hands-free — via integrated O-ring stops along its length. Each lead terminates in a heavy-duty swivel trigger clip that rotates freely to prevent tangling, even with the most spirited walkers.
Safety Features
Visibility is a core safety consideration in our designs. Every harness and lead incorporates reflective stitching along primary edges and stress points, providing 360-degree reflectivity in low-light conditions. Select models also feature a rear-mounted loop for attaching a clip-on LED beacon. The harness construction includes a reinforced handle on the dorsal panel, giving you immediate physical control of your pet in emergency situations such as encounters with off-lead dogs or proximity to traffic. All stitching is box-tacked at critical junctions — the same reinforcement technique used in climbing and safety equipment — for maximum load-bearing reliability.
Cat Harnesses
Our feline range recognises that cats have very different body proportions and temperaments to dogs. The Classy Tails cat harness uses a figure-eight design with ultra-soft microfibre padding and lightweight aluminium hardware that adds minimal weight to your cat's frame. An escape-proof secondary strap behind the ribcage prevents even the most determined wrigglers from backing out. Available in four sizes to suit breeds from Singapura to Maine Coon.
